User Interface Feedback

Below are some notes based on the current layout of v1 publicious for IHeartSea:

Feedback

  • Top nav tabs are scalable and work well on various screen sizes
  • The image associated with each landmark is also a nice touch
  • All content types and sortings should be in the center (blog posts, comments and twitter feeds, they can just be sorted with tabs with the most recent content always sitting at the top)
  • Right and left sidebars can be used for supplemental information around the community
  • -Hottest Events
    -Hottest Articles
    -Hottest Comments
-Best Contributors (with articels that receive the highest rating)
    -Ads (down thou road)
    -Multimedia (Geo Youtube and photos)

    Questions

  • Should nodes have separate "single" pages (for comments or maybe this is achieved through a specific rollover that displays a link to the single versus having a single page for every node (think wordpress blog entry versus image share rollover in mashable.com)
  • SOLVED! Voting just adds to the node's popularity but doesn't move it up or down in the stackShould we have a voting feature like digg? I really enjoy this on Digg but this would screw up the "local flow" / time-based scheme for the center
